the point?
By Dallas Weathers
A sense of absence tickles
no; claws at the thing in my hollow brittle chest
beating raggedly and pumping acidic and sour blood through my veins
For the fear of becoming just another bland souled, mindless being
chasing worldly things never to be fulfilled
looking everywhere but inward to stop this endless cycle haunts me
This fear begins to make you wonder
wonder if your purpose in life
is to totally and completely alienate yourself from others
your ability to inspire such anger from your peers
confirms this gruesome thought
inspiring ones thoughts and words to be laced with so much venom;
that you begin to believe you may be the devil.
this eerie language is not enough for you though
anyone can be angry
its the weakest and most attainable emotion
this leads you begin to wonder why everyone is so fragile
priding themselves on bottomless literature
and unattainable status
why?
what does any of that matter
if at the end of the day when you lay down and close your eyes
a feeling of melancholy follows you
behind your eyes creeping into your soul
because you know that nobody knows the real you
the one that comes out when you arent performing
or hiding
or trying to escape what youve deemed to be inevitable
In all of this rumination, you now realize that no one person
has any true purpose
you now understand that you are free to do whatever you want;
just never without cost
you begin to understand further that our purpose as people, is to be gentle
to be kind, and to forgive even when others dont deserve it
because forgiveness is to set your soul free, not theirs
Our purpose as people,
lies within our hearts
inside the marrow resting deep with in our bones.
We are defined as who we are, by what we do
so I not only encourage you, to find this purpose that lies dormant waiting for you
but i implore you to set yourself free.
